"About The Author!"
My name is Stan Scott
and I am the author of the book, "Surviving Your Wife's Cancer". I am also the author
of a blog on cancer research.
Perhaps your loved one has been diagnosed with cancer, as my wife was back in 1989. You may
feel as I did that your world is coming apart; that the future has suddenly become
clouded with uncertainty. This is natural because it's truly the case.
Just as I had no idea of the ultimate outcome of my wife's struggle, or what was to
become of my young children if I was left as a single dad, you begin to live day by day,
researching to win against the disease, yet learning to accept the inevitable if that's
what comes - as it did for me.
There are some things in life you can't fix, but knowing there are others who have gone
through the same experiences will help you in coping with this challenging time
For two years, I cared for my family while having to work at the same time. For two
years I watched a lovely and active woman slowly waste away and become a shell of her
former self as the disease took its toll. You may have to do likewise. Then again you
may find there are ways to beat this disease called cancer. Your wife may be one of the
fortunate ones, unlike my wife.
I write a blog where I offer information taken from studies done at university
laboratories and cancer research centers around the world. Depending on what type of
cancer your wife has, there may be a recent discovery leading to a treatment or a cure
superior to anything previously known.
My wife died in 1991, leaving me with two young children and a partially finished house
in a remote part of San Diego County. Our lives changed radically. There are some
things you can't plan for.
